Power On / Batteries & USB
Designed with ultimate use of ease in mind, AlertOlarm can either be powered by batteries (only included in remote fob) or mains power via a USB cable
Batteries
After removing the battery case cover to the rear of the device, install 3 x AAA Alkaline batteries into the PIR sensor and 3 x AA Alkaline Batteries into the Audible Alarm receiver. Please pay attention to ensure you install the batteries to the correct polarity. Remember to re-attach the battery case cover once the batteries are in place
Once the Audible receiver is powered on, using its power button (5), the coloured lights to the top of the unit will be displayed and the unit will make a ‘du’ sound or ring the set alarm tone/voice note to indicate the unit is powered on. Please note when turning the unit on the alarm/tone will sound for a Max of 5 seconds to indicate the unit is active.
Once the PIR sensor has been turned on, using its own power button (5), it will blink/pulse 4 x blue led lights to the face of the unit approx 5 times. Leave the unit a further 15-20 seconds to allow it to set up and thereafter it will be ready to use. To test use simply wave hand in front of face of PIR sensor and blue lights should flash (min 1 time).
Although other battery types can be used, we only recommend quality branded Alkaline batteries as cheaper options can shorten standby time and reduce the noise output of the Audible receiver.
Low Battery Alerts
If the PIR sensor batteries are low , then the 4 x blue led lights to the front of the unit will flash constantly every 3 seconds. When this is observed please ensure to replace all 3 x AAA new Alkaline batteries to suit.
If the Audible receiver batteries are low, then the audible tone from the device will be much quieter when turning the device on/off. If the batteries are very low then the device will make audible tones indicating batteries need replacing. Replace with 3 X AA Alkaline batteries
If the remote key fob batteries are running low, then the red light to the top of the unit will be dimmer than normal. In additional the range from which the remote can activate the alarm will be reduced. If either of these are noted then we recommend replacing the batteries with 1 x 27amp 12v small Alkaline battery
USB power
Although primarily designed to extend the battery life of the units, both the PR sensor and the Audible receiver units can be power by mains USB power alone. When using the USB power with batteries in place, then the USB power supply is the principle power used, however if the mains USB power fails then the batteries act as a 2nd power supply ensuring the units remain active.
For the Audible receiver unit insert a micro USB cable into the USB port (7) and turn on the mains power supply. Then turn on the device using its power button (5). Once powered on the 4 x coloured lights to the top of the unit will be displayed and the unit will make a ‘du’ sound or ring the set alarm tone/voice note to indicate the unit is powered on.
For the PIR sensor unit insert a micro USB cable into the USB port (4) and turn on the mains power supply. Once the PIR sensor has been turned on, using is own power button (5), it will blink/pulse 4 x blue led lights to the face of the unit approx 5 times. Leave the unit a further 15-20 seconds to allow it to set up and thereafter it will be ready to use. To test use simply wave hand in front of face of PIR sensor and blue lights should flash (min 1 time).

Using Remote control Fob.
With AlertOlarm there are a couple of option for turning the system on with regards to the Audible receiver unit. You can either power on using the power button on the unit itself as described above or use the remote control fob unit.
The remote control unit has four simple to use buttons. On and Off, we hope, would be self explanatory, however please note, this only turns the Audible receiver unit on and off (not the PIR sensors).
Once the Audible receiver unit has been turned on, then the centre triangular grey button with the ‘music note symbol’ can be used to change the siren/voice alert when turning on the Audible receiver unit (these alerts only ring for a max of 5 secs to advise the unit has been armed). To choose the siren/voice alert sound simply press the ‘music note’ button in sequence until you reach the desired siren/voice alert sound.
The Oval red button to the bottom of the Fob with the horn logo manages the volume settings. Simple press the buttons in sequence to change the volume of the audible alerts coming from the Audible receiver unit. There are 4 levels of volume. If you sequence through 5 times on the button it will also go into vibration only mode (no sound) if required. Again the Audible receiver unit needs to be turned on first before this button can be used.
